How the day works
Our gym is arranged like a store. Children visit with their class during the school day and choose five gifts for their loved ones, for free.
Emporium day: Date to be confirmed
For children: how to shop
- Look at your list. That's who you're shopping for.
- Use a basket or bag to collect your gifts.
- When you have all five gifts, go to a wrapping station.
For children: good to know
- If it's tricky to choose, a helper can help.
- It can be a bit noisy and exciting.
- Volunteers wrap your gifts in the paper children decorated, so they go home as true surprises.
- Daytime shopping is only for gifts for other people, and items can't be held until after school. That can feel hard, but it keeps things fair for every class.
After-school $1 sale
Students shop first. Staff and volunteers have their own time after that. Then remaining items go on sale for $1 each.
- It gets very busy.
- The best selection goes early, and it clears out fast.
- Anything left over is donated.
You can pay with cash. The start time, who can attend and whether cards will be accepted are to be confirmed.
